Studio portrait of a suspiciously wide-eyed man (cabinet card photograph)

Late 19th-century studio portrait, 5.5 x 4 inches, mounted to 6.5 x 4.25 card with gilt beveled edges and studio stamp; decorative motif on the reverse. Very Good with minor surface wear and discoloration/fading seen around the beard. Overall a typical studio portrait, but his eyes are open so wide that he almost looks dead (cf. this post-mortem portrait listing).
