Zaner Method Writing: Arm Movement, Manual 144
Oblong 8vo, 112pp. About Near Fine with subtle age toning and light soil to wraps. "Position, Form and Movement are the Trinity which Lead to Excellence in Writing." An early Zaner & Bloser publication which gives extensive instruction and justification for the method, which ultimately had workbooks and variations tailored to primary or business writing. This is not a copybook, but offers an abundance of exercises to be practised independently (noting the importance of conserving paper) as well as commentary on the relationship of the letters as shapes ("the l begins with an i", "the y is an inverted h") and some excellent mottos. Additional lettering alphabets provided at the end and wonderfully graphic gestural illustrations. Scarce.
