Yoyo stitched fabric cover, ca. 1930
Early twentieth century yoyo stitched pillow cover, 15 x 15 inches. Small hole to the backside and fading/discoloration to the fabric, but a lovely piece with a striking assortment of period fabrics. This covering does not have a closure and may have been used for a pillow, chair, or other object. Yoyo quilts were popular in the 1920s-1940s as an inexpensive way to produce home decor using circular scraps of fabric gathered around the edges and pulled into rosette or balloon shapes.
