The Psychology of Art and Love [with] Prof. Kirchway Lectures on "Social Science" at Columbia University
Typescript copies of two explicit writings on sexual performance in marriage, ca. 1920-1930, housed in an unmarked manila folder with blank cover sheet, bound from the rear panel with brads. Very Good with light soil and bumping to exterior, small snag at the foredge. A nondescript folder containing typed copies of "The Psychology of Art and Love" (11pp), which appears as a chapter in Robie's 1920 book Sex and Life, originally limited "For sale only to members of recognized professions and others upon presentation of a doctor's prescription." The second piece, "Prof. Kirchway Lectures on "Social Science" at Columbia University" (2pp) was printed as an undated leaflet attributed to Freda Kirchwey (1893-1976). It does not appear individually in OCLC but appeared previously in commerce. The documents have corrections and the end of the last sentence in "Kirchway" appended to manuscript. A discreet reference, possibly for a nervous not-so-newlywed. Both writings address optimizing sexual performance for both pleasure and procreating--the latter proposed as more of a happy by-product in Kirchwey, who openly advocated for changing moral and social attitudes towards women's pleasure.
