The Normalian of 1930 - Yearbook of the State Normal School at Geneseo, NY
Hardcover, 211pp., including ads at rear (one of which advises, "Correct Wearing Apparel Acts As A Tonic"). An impressively designed volume with a Greek “Odyssey” theme that uses a variety of materials and printing techniques to sumptuous graphic effect. Full of terrific and portraits of impeccably coiffed young women at the tail-end of '20s fashion and the beginning of their adult lives, making the yearbook an especially moving portrait of that moment in time. This year has particularly wonderful sports team photos, including several pool swimming and in-action shots. Clubs like the Ukelele Orchestra are also pretty charming. This copy belonged to Winifred B. Eimers, then a freshman at the school. A few inscriptions throughout, but very neat and in Very Good condition overall. Great photographs, beautiful book.
