The Child's Paper, complete year 1856 (Volume 5)
Newspaper, 14 x 10 inches, [4p] with engraved pictorial masthead and illustrations. Overall Very Good with surface soil and discoloration from creases, heavier internal ink residue/soil, no major damage or tearing. Signature of Henry Osborn on most issues. This volume appears to contain more political and socially engaged content (though still sparse), referencing conditions at prisons and asylums, and reflections on the Crimean War. "'Why do you not say something about the war?' the boys sometimes ask me. Perhaps it is because we have nothing good to say about it...'"
