Boston: C. E. Keith & Co., 1874. Mint wraps, tall 8vo, 24pp. Small chip to the top edge of the cover, lower corners bumped, else Very Good. Printed with decorative drop capitals and ornamental border on the cover citing several international cities. The poems are unattributed, suspected women authors. Includes scenes of New England and common life, including “The Factory Girl,” in which a "fair and fragile" child laborer falls ill upon completing her work at the loom and gives a dying address to her mother, explaining the money she earned was for her mother’s comfort. Other hot topics include temperance and patriotism, odes to veterans and the "Yankee Girl." Mintiest of green wraps.
