Philadelphia: Globe Bible Publishing Co., 1889.

Cloth wallet binding with snap closure, 10 x 7.5 x 2 inches. Designed with flaps to wrap around the top and bottom edges but were left unused; nibbling to 1/2" section of the rear joint and spine head, upper edges of specimen covers. Split at the rear hinge and overall a bit shaken, as typical, about Very Good overall. The first title page is stamped American Publishing Co., Beaver Springs, Pa., below the generic "Juvenile Publishers" imprint.

The last two titles are the most heavily represented with sample pages and plates, including an x-ray photograph and charming poses for dramatic recitations. The American Publishing Co. was known for selling religious and educational books by subscription, including The Great Galveston Disaster. The range of titles here appeals to a juvenile audience while also offering potential educational value to the adults in True Stories of Our Presidents, 20th Century Cyclopedia, and even the literary selections of New Popular Speaker.
