Dark green cloth 12mo, 118, (2)pp. Good to Very Good with rubbing and soil to boards. An interesting smush of typography. Later printing, indicated by the Moundsville, WV imprint--Gospel Trumpet moved there in 1898. No copies of this imprint in OCLC; 14 copies of Anderson, Indiana (previous location) and a handful of others. This edition does not use the photographic portrait frontis seen in others. Small token and pencil signature to front endpapers. A semi-grubby copy with scuffing and soil to boards; modest foxing and fingersoil primarily to the earlier pages. Scarce.
Daniel Sidney Warner was an evangelist and church reformer associated with the holiness movement and founding of the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana. His teachings on sanctification and the immediacy of salvation. The biographical sketch on pages v-viii references his split from the Church of God and disavowal of Christian sects, as well as his introduction to publishing from The Herald of Gospel Freedom, which he took over and transitioned into The Gospel Trumpet.
