Vernacular photograph of a woman and her camera (self-portrait?)

Early 20th century, ca. 1910-20, 3.5 x 3 inches. Circular pigeon-hole print in Fair to Good condition with creasing and soil. Though the image is complete, the print itself is a surviving half of an original with a message inscribed on the back, possibly to a friend or courter (Chauncey?) She seems to ask for the recipient's thoughts and describes why she's taken the photo--unfortunately, the text is cut off in the wrong direction. She looks to have been a middle class woman in her 30s, seated on the wooden steps of a porch with a newspaper on her lap. She is holding the camera as if taking an early "selfie," but what is she looking at that is reflecting her image? Curious little snapshot that looks ahead of its time, with a truncated texture of text—
