Frontis and chart of lacing braid patterns printed in color with a touch of foxing on those pages; contents illustrated with monochrome photographs printed in very fine halftone that gives a photogravure-like appearance. Number 31 in the Tourist Library Series, published during a notable period of modernization in Japan, the books were written on various aspects of Japanese culture, providing background on the traditions along with information on how they had evolved and were present in modern culture.
