Pictorial paper boards, small quarto, 96pp. Heavily worn around the edges and splitting along joints. A battered copy of the children's classic wherein lives the secret celebrity crush scrapbook/altar to Rodolph Valentino. Clippings are inserted between the title page and p.26. A few pencil annotations, like, "This one is so dear to me," and some of the more topical clippings (like Valentino's thoughts on women and education) make it a particularly evocative and charming surprise--and a very real sense of parents being tricked by their kid's bedtime reading.
