Softcover, 3.5 x 6.25 inches, ca. 1917-1918. 4 pages of regional history (in French), followed by 24 real photograph postcards of Besancon, including views overlooking the town and countryside, plus many landmarks and architectural attractions. Very Good with some general handling wear and a tear in the paper at the foot of the spine. Postcards remain unused and separated with original tissue guards. Ca. 1917, with the ownership signature of Samuel K. Houston, who served in the U.S. Army American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) in France and apparently died in combat near Ville-Savoye in 1918.
