Aerobilt Bodies 1949 Employee Photo Badge

Rare post-WWII employee photo ID badge. Springback pin, 1.75" diameter. With real photo cut and pasted onto yellow backing marked Aerobilt Bodies. Employee 189, who might be described as having his own kind of "aerobilt" aerodynamic hair/head shape going on, and a hard to pin down, mercurial expression.

Aerobilt Bodies was formed in 1949 as the dedicated truck-body subsidiary of Grumman, a metal manufacturer heavily involved in aluminum innovations and producing seacraft during WWII. This employee badge, #189, from their first plant in Athens, NY, remains in very nice condition--retaining an appropriate amount of grit, but solid and sturdy and really, pretty great.
