An instant collection of three silver gelatin photographs featuring children and horses (or "horses"):
(1) Cabinet card photo, 5 x 3.5 inches, mounted to 7 x 5 card. By Cambridge, Massachusetts photographer W.J. Nolan, who would take the horse around town and offer to take children's photos (you can see another image by this photographer with the same horse over at "The Cabinet Card Gallery").
(2) Young child touching a mechanical wooden horse toy set in overgrown grass, already a little worn when the photo was taken (ca. 1900-1910). By the Welter Studio in Pittsburgh. 3.75 x 2.25 inches, mounted to 6.25 x 4.25 card.
