1894 D.I.Y. page-a-day tearaway calendar of quotations

A collection of literary quotations, many in different hands and signed at the bottom in the style of a friendship album. Leaves are approx. 5 x 4.5 inches and include varying paper stocks, some of which appear to have been clipped from actual autograph albums, and others cut for purpose. Dates are written in red ink.

Assembled for 1894, including the complete run of dates from January 28-April 24 (detached but present); April 25-July 30 remain bound with a red ribbon. 27 additional slips with quotes are ready to be made up for future months. Unsigned; the compiler may have been a school teacher named Miss Cheever, from the upstate New York region. Frequent contributors include Alisa Winter and Sarah C. Bridge. A terrific and charming precursor to the modern mass-produced versions with inspirational quotes popular around the holidays.
