New York: United States Medicine Company, [1898].

Large [4]p broadsheet circular, approx. 14 x 10 inches; folded into quarters, 7 x 5 inches. No date, estimated based on textual reference to the "War with Spain." Good with sunning and light soil; shallow edgetears and a few small chips to the edges, rubbing at the folds with only a small loss of text where the paper has worn through the the intersecting creases at center. Soliciting agents for the sale of the company's many remedies, the majority patented by president Dr. C. W. Dunlop. The circular begins, "We need hardly remind you that War Times are Flush Times. There never was a time when money was so plentiful and business so prosperous as in the years just after our great Civil War which ended in 1865. These prosperous years will now be repeated. On account of the War with Spain..." Notes the "Splendid opportunity for Lady Agents" and opportunity to "be the first in your neighborhood to introduce our 'Bromo Nervolene.'" Full page of illustrations showing a wide range of agent premiums, including utensils, a banjo, and a gun.
