5 x 7 photograph mounted on an 8x 10 embossed board with Chicago photographer T. Adamowicz blindstamp. Very Good with moderate edgewear and soil to board, image crisp with strong contrast. No date, ca. 1910-1920, an uncommon original image of a young women's club swinging troupe in sailor-inspired costumes. Originally a very serious athletic pursuit for the mid-19C manly-men, club swinging became a staple of physical education and the performance of "routines" for recreational enjoyment spread in the early part of the 20th century.
