Softcover quarto, 44pp. Very Good with tear to bottom of spine, otherwise light sunning but clean and unmarked. Inscribed on the first page, dated November 30, 1941. An illustrated album commemorating the "Prairie Pals" and the music culture at Valley View Park, where "Shorty" established a country venue for performers including Hank Williams, Roy Rogers, George "Gabby" Hayes, Ken Maynard and Lash LaRue. From his obituary in the "York Dispatch," Shorty was raised in the South and "...came to York county in the 1940s and his large car with steer horns on the radiator, soon became a common sight. For a time had a music group called Shorty Fincher and His Prairie Friends. He was heard on WORK AND WNOW radio stations in his early years in York." A charming keepsake with some great photos of a small Pennsylvania pocket of Country-Western music, fashion, and livin'. Intended for the Valley View community, several pages at the rear were left blank so it could be used as a scrapbook. This copy without any additions, but signed by Shorty.
