Fruit Sewing Cards (in original box)

Springfield, MA: Milton Bradley Co., ca. 1897.

Springfield, MA: Milton Bradley Co., ca. 1900. Set of 11 (of 12?) perforated sewing cards, several colored-in and all but one with lacing. Coated white on one side. In original box with chromolithograph lid and printed ad for Bradley's new "Bible Panorama" on the bottom of the box, which was released c. 1897. One wall of the lid is missing a three-inch length, box otherwise sturdy and whole. Milton Bradley produced many series of sewing cards, including Animals, Fish, Leaf, Flower, Birds, and Soldiers and Sailors Sewing. This box has a particularly funky design and has a handful of additions--five little handmade spools of thread wrapped around rolled-up scraps of paper (one appears to be a drawing) and 2 wooden needle punches that would have been used for pricking and perforating designs.
