Ca. 1880s scrap book with trade cards, die cuts, chromos, etc.
Hardcover quarto, 13 x 10 inches, with decorative embossed covers and mounted chromolithograph; 16 leaves, about Good with modest soil, leaves detached at the gutter and chipping around the edges, as typical for the format. Rubbing and some loss to binding extremities, cover graphic still intact. Roughly 200 items.
Central Ohio provenance with many trade cards for local and national businesses including Boyd's, O.N.T., Peoria Stoves, Burdock Blood Bitters, etc. Several Restein's Oil Chromos, a Prang card with fringe border, portraits of actresses Mary Anderson and Louise Paullin, and a smattering of diecuts of indifferent children. A metallic embossed paper cut is a standout, too.
