Marbled wraps with emerald green printed label, "Alphabet & Leger for Book Keeping." Folio account book repurposed and scrapbook for small lace samples with instructions clipped from magazines and newspapers. 7 full and 2 partial leaves, making for about 12 pages of content with additional items and extra 3p manuscript instructions laid in. Le(d)ger dates to 1858; reused ca. 1880s-90s by a Connecticut women, based on dates and ads visible on the backs of the clippings. Wraps are in remarkably nice condition with a bright green label. 15 small samples; 2 loose, others pinned or stitched near the corresponding directions. Among the laid-in items are an 1887 article from 'The Delineator' and clippings from newspapers identified as from New Haven, CT, ca. 1898.
