Surfaces éclairées et obscures

Single leaf, 8.25 x 6.25 inches, in 14 x 11 acid-free mat and archival sleeve. Loosely mounted with mylar corners so the leaf can be easily removed for examination. Very Good condition, toning a bit uneven and several impressions at the edges as from being clamped in the past. From a mid-19th century French student manuscript on architectural and mechanical drafting containing notes for computational and perspective drawing, studies on light and shade, reflection, etc. A nice geometric representation of illuminated and opaque surfaces, with related text on the verso (in French).
