An enigmatic set of 12 silver gelatin photographs. Five of the photographs document a vast and vacant landscape, while two architectural views and photo captions indicate the presence of a vinery and tennis court at Umbona, with the times and locations noted on the mats. The remaining five photographs show two men of color taking turns posing against the stark snow, and a trusty canine companion.
