Embossed metal sign with design in a delicious teal over cream color palette. Visible area is 14 x 8 inches, with extra metal on the sides that wraps around to secure the sign to a retail display. In original, untouched condition with surface scuffs and scratches. Good overall. Two dimples at the top edge and bending from the turn ins. With the maker's printed signature, HEINZ MFG. Co., Inc. Elwood, Ind. Formed in 1948, the company was instrumental in reinvigorating the town of Elwood, which had suffered after the exit of companies like PPG (Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co). They primarily manufactured metal oven racks and retail flower displays, but expanded in the 1950s, including the creation of a displays division that was sold in 1961.
