See and Say Letter Box
...Containing an Ample and Well Balanced Assortment of Letters and Figures
Introduced in the late teens and gaining popularity in the 1920s, many “Letter Box” tins survived as trinket and pencil boxes, but are almost always without the original tiles. This example has so many tiles, they haven’t fit back in the tin since it was opened. Sets were advertised as having 360 letters, numbers, and figures. These have not been counted, but by volume are surely close to, if not actually, complete.
Letter tiles, 1 x .75”, in a printed tin, 4 x 5.75 inches. Scuffing to the tin, including a long scratch of the lid, overall a Very Good+ example.
