With a quote from educator Mrs. Barbauld on the title page that begins, "Finding out riddles is the same kind of exercise for the mind, that running, leaping, &c., are to the body." Well illustrated riddles in verse and one-liners, including, "Why is the principal of a female seminary like the letter C?
