7 ca. 1930s sample books for specialty papers by Hughes & Hoffman

Printed wraps, 5.5 x 8.25 inches (two are 5" tall)No date, ca. 1932, when the “Horizon Tints” line was released. Oblong 8vo, staple-bound embossed wraps, Very Good+ except the “Ripple Finish” volume, which has glue on the rear wrap. Set: Horizon Tints: A New Box Covering (first sample mostly torn out, others complete); White Embossed Papers (complete); Parfait Embossed Box Covering (some of each sample is present, but 4 only have 3-4 inches remaining); Pastel Embossed Box Covering-Crystal Finish (about 1” clipped from first sample, else complete); Pastel Embossed Box Covering-Satin Finish (complete); Ripple Finish Box Covering (large clippings from three samples, still about 3 inches remaining for each, corners clipped from 5 other samples); and, Antique Metal Box Covering (lacking one sample and just a inch stub left of another, other 4 intact). Great period designs; the sheets of white textures are especially delicious.
