AAS directory note "Merriam & Moore" was listed in 1851, preceded by W.&. H. Merriam and succeeded by Moore & Nims (Henry B. Nims). Small hole in rear wrap obstructing "The" only. Chip to upper front corner, 2" repaired tear and general edgewear; old whipstitch spine reinforcement. Full of chaotic depictions including a bear being mangled by a saw, a spooked horse chomping on a dog, boys tormenting an impoverished man in the street.
