Consecutive run of 5 Barnes's National Vertical Penmanship, Books Number 3 & 4

New York: American Book Company, 1898.

For the anthro-graphologist, a suite of 5 penmanship books completed by the same student in succession. Three copies of Book 3 and two copies of Book 4, 22 pages each, completed by 11-12 year old Katie Heffy from February 10, 1902 through August 31, 1903. The first Book 3 is missing the first page, and the first page of one of the Book 4's is loose but present. Otherwise generally in Very Good condition with occasional staining and soil to wraps. A few exercises are annotated "before" and "after recess," all are neatly completed. I'm not sure the scholarly merits of studying short-term handwriting progression, but it would seem a shame to break up this opportunity for someone inclined to such curiosity.
