16mo, 24pp. Owner's signature inside front wrap dated 1861. Stitching along spine, small chip at the top corner of p 19-20 (no loss to image or text, just taking out a bit of the border). Soil and rubbing to wraps, mild foxing throughout. Notable for its reference to New Holland (Australia), the garbled alphabet order, mammel labeled "Ichneumon" (presumed mongoose), and a nice woodcut of a printing press. American Primers 635, gives 1843 copyright date, this copy likely later; OCLC suggests 1849 and lists 4 copies.
