The Eagle Primer, Number Six

First Edition. New York: Oakley & Mason, 1854.

Blue wraps laminated to plain paper with engravings inside each cover promoting Oakley & Mason's illustrated edition of Undine. Good to Very Good with some chipping along the spine, mild discoloration. 34pp with a woodcut illustration on each page–some quite charming, like a few girls at a telescope, and others quite odd in appearance and overtones, like a colonial-looking monkey “traveler” with a cane and stockings on page 16, or a tiger being shot from an elephant on page 30. Only 2 institutions with the series (Cornell and Columbia Teacher's College), no individual holdings of this number.
