Two titles bound together with ASSU emblem on the title page of the first (36pp); Sailor boy (16pp) with a frontis and dated 1835 Berry Mills Union Sunday School Library bookplate to the front pastedown with a few markings to the ffep. About Very Good with moderate rubbing around the edges of the boards. Remnants of paper spine label intact. Scarce.
Ward was part of the "Serampore Trio," a group of three Protestant missionaries (with William Carey and Joshua Marshman) influential in the spread of Christianity in India. Ward was a printer and established the first mission press in North India, which printed the Bible and other religious texts in various Indian languages.
