General store interior with visible packaging, Pittsburgh ca. 1900
5 x 7 on 8 x 10 board. Corners bent, most dramatically the lower left, affecting the unprinted border area on the photograph. Photograph with a small chip at the top left corner, surface soil and rubbing. High contrast with some blown-out areas (mostly foreground), but successfully capturing the fully stocked shelves with enough detail to make out many of the products: Elastic starch, chewing tobacco, Butler's Blend Coffee, Barnum's Animals counter display next to the chocolate snaps. Two young shopkeepers, including a young woman with a solid glare. Verso stamped "51 - 1818(?) Rebecca St., Wilkinsburg, Pa."
