Her "Swissalu" Diary, written enroute

Cleveland, Ohio: George H. Bowman, 1912.

3.5 x 3 inches. [60] pages, illustrated with halftone photographs of aluminum kitchenware set against deep black backgrounds. Near Fine with a hint of foxing and supplier stamp to centerfold. Formatted as a travel diary in which Ms. Brownette sails off to her firm's annual trip to their aluminum factory in Switzerland--an interesting premise, and potential target audience.

"Aluminum to me has always been more interesting than popular fiction," she writes. She's a smart, working gal, but falls in love with Jimmy. He proposes to her on their return trip and the diary ends with her resignation letter: "Married today on board boat... I'm crazy to start my 'Swissalu' kitchen." Graphically appealing, quirky, and rare. Not recorded in OCLC.
