A tract for grieving parents that includes a poignant consideration the child's absence from the domestic realm and a bittersweet sense of order. 48mo, 4.5x3 inches, 8pp. Not bound, no wraps, presumed as issued. Last page indicates, "Reprinted from 'The Christian,'" which began publication around 1865. Good with creasing, shallow nibbling at the upper edge, small tear and abrasion in the gutter between the last two pages (as from being stuck together). With newspaper clipping, "The Burial of Our Little One" (unattributed). Hastings came from a long line of preachers and published moral and religious works, including many hymns.
