Inskrifningsbok - Swedish military enrollment book.
Paper boards, 12mo, 56pp. More commonly spelled "Inskrivningsbok." Bottom corner of the cover chipped, else Very Good. Two calling cards for Ruth Karlsson in the rear pocket. The Conscription Act of 1901 mandated 12 years of military service for young men beginning at age 21-40 (established as the draft age). A notice printed on the front pastedown announces changes to the laws identified by number (not described) and states this is a "renewed form fot the registration book for conscripts assigned to the army." The booklets were issued at the time of conscription to keep track of service (pages 1-20) and detail the terms of conscription, benefits, procedures for university students, penalties, etc (pages 21-56), followed by perforated notice of enrollment forms (1 missing/used; 7 present). This example belonged to Ernst Eli Johanssen, born 23 Jan 1889 and conscripted 28 Feb 1910. With sparing entries mostly dated 1911-1912. Receipt for a money order loosely inserted. Rare.
