Embroidery Cards
Springfield, MA: Milton Bradley Co., ca. 1910-1920. Printed box, 10 x 13 inches, with raised compartments. Contents: 5 colors of lacing floss; (13) 4 x 5.5” cards (one complete, one in progress); (6) 5.5 x7” cards (1 partially complete); (6) 3.5 x 5” cards with a perforated grid (the upper corner of one of those cards is torn off, but present). Large 1x5-inch loss to the left lip of the lid, though the cover remains undisturbed.
An eclectic assortment of Bradley’s sewing cards—likely whatever extras were floating around—packaged in a superbly graphic box with thread for working the images. No printed instructions or reference for completeness, but great to have the thread. The cards also have a few unusual subjects, including a blacksmith, a sickle, Cinderella, and a prancey cat.
