H. E. Butler was a controversial occultist who founded the Esoteric Society in Boston in the 1880s after diverging from the popular Theosophical Society of Helena Blavatsky. The Seven Creative Principles first presented in writing the tenets of Butler's esoteric philosophy, preceding his infamous Solar Biology, which generated controversy in challenging Theosophical Society principles and ultimately prompted the society's relocation to Applegate, CA, where it was renamed the Esoteric Fraternity. A rare publication from the early days of Butler's tenure as an esoteric guru and espouser of attainable immortality.
