First edition, 1903. Small oblong 4to, 7.25 x 10 inches, 45pp. Staplebound textured wood pulp wrappers reinforced with fabric at the spine. Very good+ with minor discoloration and gentle bumping at the corners. Rear wrap with a few dots of staining and small gift inscription on the title page, else unmarked. The first of four manual arts and crafts books published by William Hammel, Director of Manual Training and Physics in the North Carolina State Normal and Industrial College. Designed as a continuation of the principles of manual training begun in kindergarten, the exercises involve detailed instructions and working diagrams for constructing models using paper and string.
