Cahier de Dessins - 1918 French student sketchbook with architectural drawings and Art Deco inspired designs

Plain buff wrappers, 6.25 X 9.5 inches. 20 unnumbered pages, 13 with drawings. In Good to Very Good condition with light soil and handling wear; centerfold is detached into two leaves. The book is split between traditional architectural studies in pencil and watercolor, mixed with emblems and other graphic designs, often incorporating the student's name. One features the Star of David. Dated 1918, drawings are graded and signed, "J. Descoms." One mentions "5 cour," suggesting the artist was about 12 years old, which would make sense with the style and quality of the drawings--reflective of an intermediate stage where the student is showing aptitude and an original style that would have certainly developed impressively.
