Book of Chemical Labels and Table of Atomic Weights
Philadelphia: Arthur H. Thomas Company, (ca. 1920). Item no. 6310 in the company's 1921 catalog (p. 356): "A book of gummed perforated labels each bearing both name and symbol of the ordinary reagents and arranged for convenient removal without disturbing the book" Glued wraps over top-stapled textblock containing 32 leaves of perforated labels printed on gummed paper and interleaved with glassine. 500 labels with some size variation and blanks. The first sheet of labels has a slice at the upper edge and small loss from pulling at the lower staple, overall Very Good. Remarkably complete, a delight for its graphic design, materiality, and glimpse into the litany of ammonias, sodiums and laboratory miscellany (asbestos, wax and sand among them).
