Stamps to the endpapers and edges of the "Presbyterian Committee of Publication," call number on the title page but no other library marking. Very Good+, attractive copy. "Written to those girls, who have not time or inclination to think and study about the many important things which make up life and living." Practical etiquette and general guidance for working women dedicated to (and based on conversations at) the 38th Street Working Girls Society, one of the first organizations in New York City dedicated to the welfare and advancement of working women. Dodge (1856-1914) was an organizer and philanthropist, the main benefactor for what is now Columba University Teachers College. She is credited with the formation of the YWCA and initiatives that advanced women not only in the workplace, but as travelers and contributing members of society.
