Kunstschriftmappe Beispielen fur Ly=Schrift. Ly-heft 1: Renaissance-Schrift von Rudolf Blanckertz; Ly-heft 2: Uebungsheft fur Renaissanceschrift. Oblong softcover 8vo, 24pp + 16 page blank booklet of thin laid paper with black and white guideline sheet to place underneath for practice. Housed in original envelope with minimal wear. Undated, but ca. 1910-1920. In the 1920s, Heintze & Blanckertz began publishing the design magazine Die zeitgemäße Schrift and collaborating with prominent graphic designers in like Rudolf Koch, Paul Renner and Edward Johnston. In 1926, co-owner Rudolf Blanckertz opened Das Schriftmuseum ("Museum of Writing") in Berlin, which housed a collection of over 1000 writing implements, accessories, and ephemera, part of which is now in the permanent collection of the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz.
