Paris la nuit

15 cyanotype photographs of Paris by night, featuring iconic landmarks and cityscapes including Notre Dame, Opera House, Eiffel Tower, Moulin Rouge, etc. The photographs are particularly lush in their capture of light, particularly in the blurred streams made by passing cars during long exposure photographs. In very good condition with mild rubbing to wraps. Original tissue guards present. Previous owner's signature (Paris, 1944) to the inside cover, else clean and unmarked. Patras produced popular real photograph postcard (RPPC) souvenir books of France, but larger examples of the photographs are uncommon. Several prints from this series are held in the collections of the Paris Musees, including our favorite, "Le Avenue des Champs-Elysees." A magical and romantic portrait of Paris by night.
