A. J. Fouch was a Northwestern PA producer of chromos, cards, school supplies and teaching aids ca. 1895-1920. The economically printed cards seem to reflect regional budgets and mentality. The stories represent virtues tied to being a desirable employee and and their contents emphasize moral fortitude with several references to desirable behavior for employment and the virtues of simple country life. Dora, for example, "instead of having costly toys with which to amuse herself, as many city children have, she spends her time with her living playthings," like potentially pragmatic running around after chickens.
