Comic stereoview "The Critic" (Universal Photo Art Co. #4383)

Albumen photograph on standard size stereoview card, 3.5 x 7 inches. Card has slight curl with light rubbing and soil. Graves had quite the empire of stereoview series, many focused on regional scenery or historical art. He also published a number of comical (and sometimes bawdy or risque) views. This is a potentially self-referential view of a critic of those series: a baby on a chamber pot looking through a stereoscope and wearing a dunce cap.
