Early twentieth-century American sewing skill notebook

Softcover sewing notebook by "B. La Flair" with 39 individual examples (all but 2 mounted) in a standard composition book that's been treated to a vernacular cloth cover made from the same fabric as a few examples. A little toasted around the edges, likely subject to a water spill at some point, overall Very Good. 24 leaves with models and text, including a few pages at the end on removing stains. The work represents a combination of hand and machine sewing techniques, mending and basic embroidery techniques. Includes examples of specific skills and models of essential garments such as darted blouses, collared shirts and men's drawers. 

The cloth jacket is loose at the bottom edge; a peek under the cover shows the notebook was manufactured by Milton Bradley Company and belonged to Bertha LaFlair, likely ca. 1920s or early '30s based on the notebook. Possibly done at a later age, rather than as a school assignment, the notebook represents practical domestic skills. The textual content references the appropriate forms for table linens, towels, and luncheon sets. It concludes with a few pages on removing stains with chemicals like oxalic acid and chloroform. Specific guidance is offered for treating paint, wine, fruit (peaches the worst), ink, tea & coffee, and blood stains.
