Single sheet, 10 x 8 inches, written by Thomas Adrian Clinton (1877-1911) to his mother, dated July 27, 1906. "Tom" was part of acting troupe making the rounds at the hotels and resorts in Sharon Springs, New York, a popular destination known for its mineral waters and health spas. My Dear Mother,
Forgive me for not writing sooner but my time is so taken up that I have done very little writing. There are 15 men in the bunch, all fine players. We have a cottage all to ourselves to sleep in. We get our board at one of the hotels, the best of everything. This place is very beautiful but altogether too quiet. Most of the people come here for the sulphur baths. As for myself, I have made a very good impression, the leader wants me to stay the entire season, but will have to get back Sunday, 5th of August, as the theatre opens the 6th. We are having lots of fun, but I have been lonesome and will be glad to get back. I suppose Willie is getting on very good with his job. As to Jake I have not written him yet, nor had a chance. We have to divide our time between 5 different hotels. That keeps us very busy. Give my love to all. I will be back in about a week & tell you all about it. Enclosed find a nice notice that was given me last week.
Yours with love,
Tom
