1953-1957 Scrap Book assembled by Marilyn Potts while studying at Mount Union College

A purpose-made "Book Shelf Scrap Book and Album" published in New York by the Educational Press--intended to fit on a bookshelf and blend in, but in this case is stuffed swollen by Marilyn Potts with photographs and ephemera from her studies at Mount Union College (Alliance, OH) and involvement in the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Includes 22 mounted photos and 14 photos laid in (including an HMS Queen Mary souvenir in envelope). The photos are a charming selection of snapshots, some quite goofy, and more formal photos from balls and special occasions. A number of photos show rather impressive sculptures adorning campus buildings that appear to have been done by the students, including a large elephant and donkey, "Keep political tradition..." Album also includes a pressed rose and many menus, dance cards, programs, greeting cards, newspaper clippings, etc, throughout. Marilyn Potts studied elementary education and went on to teach at Boardman School. The scrapbook covers roughly 1953-1957.
